A Partnership Born of Passion and Precision

Morning Import was founded with a singular mission: to provide American bakers with the same elite ingredients used by the finest boulangeries in France. We don’t just see ourselves as a distributor—we are a technical partner dedicated to your bakery’s success.

Our Heritage: The Foricher Connection

Our story is deeply rooted in the soil of France. We are the exclusive Midwest bridge to Foricher, a family-owned milling company renowned for its uncompromising quality and commitment to the “Label Rouge” and CRC® (Culture Raisonnée Contrôlée) standards.

Founded by Yvon Foricher, the milling company is famous for its “Performance Courses”—rigorous training designed to ensure that the flour’s potential is fully realized in the final bake. Every bag of Morning Import flour carries this legacy of sustainable farming and milling excellence.

Local Roots: The Chicago Lab

While our flour is French, our heart is in Chicago. We operate out of our commercial kitchen and headquarters, Cook Au Vin, located at 2252 N. Elston Ave.

This space serves as a hub for the Midwest baking community. It is here that we host our 1-to-3 day intensive training courses, allowing our clients to experiment, learn, and master their craft using the exact equipment and ingredients they will use in their own shops.

Led by Expertise: Vincent Colombet

Morning Import is led by Vincent Colombet, whose expertise was forged through the elite performance courses of Yvon Foricher himself. This direct lineage of knowledge is what distinguishes Morning Import from traditional importers.

When you partner with us, you aren’t just getting a supplier; you are getting a consultant. Vincent and our team of French master bakers are available to travel to your facility, working with your specific ovens and equipment to ensure that your baguettes, croissants, and specialty loaves meet the highest standards of taste and texture.
